If you’re a music nerd like me, odds are your iTunes is/was a complete mess. This tool is a godsend, and well worth the $15 I plunked down for it.

Dougs AppleScripts for iTunes ♫ Dupin – iTunes Duplicates Manager – v1.4.2.

This tool is a great example of the app dev attitude that flourishes in the mac community, i.e. simple, useful apps that are sold, typically, for $20 or less. At some point I’d like to sit and write my musings on why such a community exists within Mac but not Windows [i.e. xcode is free visual studio is not, better integration of said tools, etc]. It’s a bit of a chicken/egg debate.

Anyways, why *isn’t* or why *couldn’t* there be such a community with Windows users? If Doug of Dougs Applescripts is making a couple dollars on this great tool, shouldn’t their be a market for Windows as well? Understandably, it would be difficult to maintain both codebases but that aside … Is there a market for inexpensive, useful, utility apps within the Windows community? Is that community equally happy to plunk down a couple bucks for these types of apps? Or has no one tried it yet?
